Adult Education
Mixteca Organization, Inc offers educational programming that meets the needs of individuals from middle school through adulthood. Our educational programs seek to increase English proficiency, technology skills, and employability and open doors to higher education. Many of our clients are enrolled in multiple programs allowing us to provide them with a continuum of educational services.
Technology Center (Centro Comunitario de Aprendizaje)
The Organization’s Technology Center which is open during the weekdays, evenings and Saturdays, offers newcomers access to and instruction in computers and Internet so that learn necessary computer skills. Adolescents and adults can enroll in an online distance-learning program offered through the prestigious Mexican University, Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, and take certificate-earning courses in Basic Computer Skills and HTML and Web Design. Our certificate program in Basic Computing skills is a five-month course and enrolls students on almost a monthly basis.
- Tutors available Tuesday through Friday from 6:00–9:00 P.M. and Saturdays from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Mixteca Organization, Inc’s popular English for Speakers of Other Languages courses meets a critical need for English instruction in our community. We enroll approximately one hundred students three times a year for intensive evening ESOL courses in levels I, II, and III (those highest in demand). Our curriculum instills our clients with survival English skills and encourages them to actively participate in civic community life. Classes include visits from speakers presenting information on various health, civics, legal, and educational issues relevant to our community.

Adult Basic Education and Literacy (Plaza Comunitaria INEA)
Mixteca Organization, Inc offers adults the chance to become literate and complete their elementary and secondary school studies. Our Adult Literacy and Basic Education Program, offered through the Mexican Institute for Adult Education (INEA in Spanish), carries supplementary vocational and life-skills coursework. This service allows members of our community to accumulate educational credentials that will both improve their job prospects and serve as preparation for the GED.
