Mixteca Organization, Inc tiene como misión crear un contexto adecuado para el desarrollo económico y social de la comunidad inmigrante Mexicana y Latino-Americana de Nueva York. Ofrecemos una variedad de programas y servicios que atienden a las múltiples necesidades de familias inmigrantes y buscan crear un ambiente de apoyo para esta emergente comunidad.
WHO WE ARE
Mixteca Organization Inc’s mission is to empower the Mexican and Latin-American immigrants of the New York area by providing access to services that enhance immigrants’ quality of life and will allow them to reach sustainable social and economic development. We offer a variety of programs and services that respond to the specific needs of recently arrived immigrant families and aim to build a supportive environment for the growing Mexican and Latin-American immigrant community
Nuestra Historia
Mixteca Organization, Inc es una organización sin fines de lucro, registrada en el estado de Nueva York bajo régimen 501(c)(3), ubicada en Brooklyn, Nueva York. La organización fue establecida por miembros de la comunidad inmigrante en el año 2000 bajo el liderazgo del Dr. Gabriel Rincón — figura prominente en la comunidad — con el propósito de atender a las necesidades de la comunidad inmigrante Mexicana y de Americana Latina estableciéndose en la Ciudad de Nueva York.
La creación de la organización fue exitosa gracias a esfuerzos personales y apoyo monetario y en especie de nuestros fundadores, la comunidad inmigrante, y de instituciones y fundaciones comprometidas con la causa. Después de años de empeño el sueño de establecer un lugar para aprender, socializar, y recibir servicios vitales se convirtió en una realidad.
OUR HISTORY
Mixteca Organization, Inc is a grass-roots, 501(c)(3) community-based organization located in Sunset Park that was established in 2000 by a group of concerned members of the immigrant community under the leadership of Dr. Gabriel Rincón — a prominent community figure — to respond to the host of critical health, educational, social, legal and needs facing the burgeoning Mexican and Latin American immigrant community settling in South Brooklyn.
The Organization’s establishment was successful thanks to the support of our founders and a community united toward a common goal. Financial limitations and constraints were arduously overcome thanks to the effort and contributions of hundreds and the support from the philanthropic community. After years of work our community’s hope of establishing a place for families to learn, socialize and receive vital services has finally become a reality.

Our work aims to marry our community’s strengths with the knowledge and resources that they need to succeed in their new home. As an organization founded by the community that we serve we take full advantage of this unique perspective in offering quality programs that respond to our community’s needs and are sensitive to their culture.
