OUR MISSION
Mixteca’s mission is to empower the Mexican and Latin-American immigrants of the New York area by providing them access to services that enhance their quality of life and will allow them to reach sustainable social and economic development. We offer a variety of programs and services that respond to the specific needs of immigrant families and aim to build a supportive environment for the growing Mexican and Latin-American immigrant community.
Asylum-Seeker Crisis
In 2022, an unprecedented number of individuals from Latin America - over 61,000 to date - have arrived in New York City, many of whom are seeking asylum status.
Mixteca has been at the forefront of supporting thousands of newly-arrived asylum-seekers. Read our report on the situation to learn more about the asylum-seeker crisis and the work non-profits like us do to provide everything from clothing and food to housing and mental health support.
